The purpose of The association of Health Promoting Hospitals in Finland is to bring more strongly a health promoting view into the culture of Finnish hospitals. Health promotion in hospital care includes curative, symptom relieving, rehabilitative and preventive work as well as improving the quality of life.

Health promoting hospital incorporates into its culture and daily work the idea of health promotion of its patients and their families, personnel, hospital environment and the population.
Through this association members belong also into the international Health Promoting Hospitals (HPH) Network.
The exchange programme for employees
The Association of Health Promoting Hospitals in Finland have an exchange programme for employees (nurses, doctors, physiotherapist, social workers ect.) of member hospitals of the international HPH-network.
Important details:
- The exchange period will be 1-2 weeks.
- Stay in Finland will not cause any costs (food and housing).
- The person coming to exchange should be prepared to give speech (about 1 hour) concerning health promoting work in his/her own unit and the HPH network in his/her own country.
- Evaluation of the exchange programme be done afterwards.
For the applicant:
- You´ll get the ”Questionnaire for the application of international health promoting hospitals exchange between another HPH-country and Finland” from your HPH-coordinator. Send the filled Questionnaire to your HPH-coordinator. All the Questionnaires must be returned to Finnish HPH-coordinator.
- Finnish HPH-network will inform the HPH-coordinators to which applicants we can offer the exchange hospital. We might not be able to find a place for all the applicants.
- The person responsible for the Exchange at the hospital level will contact the person coming for the exchange period.
- The exchange will be mutual between countries.
We are looking forward to changing experiences with you concerning good health promoting practises and experiences at the hospital level.
